“Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry.”
A priest is given special graces so that he can serve as minister to the people of the world. In turn, he fulfills his duty to administer the sacraments, through which we receive special graces. The sacrament of Holy Orders is given with varying authority to bishops, priests and deacons.
It is important to remember to pray for our priests each and every day.
