Altar Servers: Fr. Paul Nguyen is responsible for preparing students as Altar Servers. Students are eligible to become an Altar Server in 5th grade and older, and preparation is held during the 5th grade year. Click here for details. To contact Fr. Art & Environment: Pam Douglas is the chair of the Art & Environment Committee. As the Liturgical Calendar changes, the members of the Art & Environment Committee meet to decorate the church and create a beautiful space in which to worship. For more information, click here. Ministers of the Eucharist: Acting as a Minister of the Eucharist is a fulfilling way to contribute to the celebration of the Mass. If you are not already a Minister of the Eucharist, please email the office to find out when the next training session will be held.

Music Ministry: Music Ministry at Sacred Heart offers a variety of opportunities for children, teens and adults who wish to participate in vocal or instrument ensembles. Click here for a description of each choir or to email Sheila Hancock, Director of Music Ministry.

At Sacred Heart Church, we are a community of believers. As believers, it is important to work together to grow spiritually, to support our parish financially, and to reach out to the world in which we live. Whether your gift is serving those in need, participating in a Bible study, joining a choir, or organizing a parish event, our prayer is that you find what you seek in the variety of activities listed on this page.

Adult Faith Formation: Monte Hauserman is the Director of Adult Faith Formation. Through the Adult Faith Formation program, Sacred Heart welcomes new members. Monte welcomes new Catholics through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). To learn more about Monte's programs, click here. Children's Faith Formation (CFF): The CFF staff, Kayla Richer, Debbie Chalik and Marcia Schaul, coordinate programs that include Wednesday Faith Formation classes for students in area public schools, Sunday morning preschool held during 9:30 Mass, Children's Liturgy of the Word dismissal at the 9:30 Mass, Vacation Bible School (VBS) held each summer in June, and many educational programs to help parents and catechists as they guide the children of our parish. Family Life Ministry and GIFT (Growing in Faith Together): The programs through Family Ministry and GIFT offer opportunities to the families, parents, and adults to grow spiritually as they learn the details of our Catholic faith. Julie Nelson is the coordinator of both programs, and plans activities throughout the year. You can email Julie for details.

Finance Committee: The Finance Committee oversees finances for the parish. For further information, contact Kathy Ingle (515) 223-1331.

Hispanic Ministry: Our Hispanic Ministries program is designed to serve our Latino community, and to celebrate and share the rich cultural traditions through the many programs we offer. Rosario Manzano is the Director of the program. Click here to learn more or contact Rosario at (515) 779-1191.

SMASH / Youth Ministry: Through the many activities offered to our youth, grades 9-12, students are able to attend faith sharing events, a social activities, National Catholic Youth Conference, and mission trips offered each year. Knights of Columbus: The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic Fraternal organization which sets faith and service at the core of what they believe. Board of Religious and Academic Education: The Board acts in an advisory group to Sacred Heart School in matters involving school budget and tuition.
