"We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop."
Mother Teresa of Calcutta
The Pastoral Council is made up of a group of members who work together to contribute to Sacred Heart Parish by sponsoring and supporting a variety of parish events and activities. The goal is to create a platform for communication for parish organization that will foster awareness of the many opportunities available at Sacred Heart for parishioners of all ages and interests.
In addition to the supportive role the council plays in our parish, they sponsor several events during each year.
- "Love in the Heart of Christ" is a parish-wide mission project created to support the need of our parish community. Following a day of work, parishioners are invited to a chili supper in the parish center. This mission is held each year in October.
- During Lent, the pastoral council offers a soup supper in the parish center before the parish reconciliation service.
- In April each year, the council collects "Soles for Souls". The number of "soles" collected has increased each year.
- Watch the bulletin or this web site for further details regarding these and other parish events.
Pastoral Council meetings are held once a month. Parish members are welcome to submit topics to be presented at a meetings.
Members are selected each year in early spring by a parish-wide selection process. If you are interesting becoming actively involved in Sacred Heart Church and learning how to become a member of the Pastoral Council, contact Rebecca Stoll.
