The Parish Reconciliation Service will be held on March 9: Soup Supper will be held from 5:30-6:45 pm; the Reconcilation Service begins at 7 pm. Every Saturday throughout the year, our priests celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation from 2:30-3:30 pm.

Lenten Fish Fry Fridays: Join us each Friday of Lent for all-you-can-eat fried or baked fish, cheese pizza, various sides and a drink. The dates are: Mar. 6, 13, 20 and 27. March 8 is the date for the next Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Proceeds will benefit the Sacred Heart Rice Bowl project.

On Monday, March 16, the Knights of Columbus and Women's Guild will celebrate St. Patrick's day.

The next pancake breakfast held by the Knights of Columbus will be on April 12. The beneficiary will be the Sacred Heart Family Ministry and GIFT programs.

Vacation Bible School is back! The date is June 22-26, 2015. We are looking for adult volunteers to help us provide a fun and safe VBS this summer. Watch this web site and the VBS PAGE for student registration information. 

The Knights of Columbus will have a meeting on Monday, April 20. Rosary will be held at 6 pm followed by a meal and a meeting.

Each week throughout Lent, an arrangement will be dedicated to the country we focus on through our Rice Bowl Project. We send a heartfelt thank you to Pam Douglas for her creativity which brings special meaning to our worship space during Lent and throughout our year. On Sunday, February 22, our the candidatesSacred Heart Church | Rite of Acceptance and catecumens gathered at the Cathedral in downtown Des Moines to receive the Rite of Election. Bishop Pates was on hand to worship with the group that had come from all the Catholic churches throughout out diocese. Please pray for these men and women as they begin the final phase of preparation for full initiation into the Church at Easter Vigil.

Sacred Heart Church | LentDuring 5 Masses held on Ash Wednesday, February 18, parishioners from Sacred Heart Church came together to prepare for the season of Lent. As Father Hess said in our bulletin this week, "Because our lives are not perfect and we do not always live as people of faith, the Church calls upon us to use the 40 days of Lent as a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving." CLICK HERE to learn about our Lenten activities. 

On Monday, April 16,Sacred Heart Church | Knights of Columbus the Knights of Columbus welcomed new members. To learn more about the Knights of Columbus and what they do for our community, CLICK HERE. The next pancake breakfast sponsored by the Knights will be held on March 8 and will support the Rice Bowl project at Sacred Heart Church.

We invite you to pray for our catecumens and candidates as they enter the final period of purification and enlightenment which is an intense time of preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation at Easter Vigil.
