On Monday, May 18, the Sacred Heart ChurchSacred Heart Church | Knights of Columbus Knights of Columbus presented Father Fabian with a K of C jacket to thank him and to help him remember his time at our parish. Father Fabian will be leaving us to serve a parish in Council Bluffs at the end of June.  The Knights also welcomed 6 new members and honored long-time Knight, Jim Donlan, with the award for the May Knight of the month.

Sacred Heart Church | First EucharistOn May 2, 2015 we held our second celebration of First Eucharist at Sacred Heart Church for 68 of our young Catholic students. The day was beautiful, the smiles were happy, and the weather was perfect. All of the young people began formal preparation for the reception of Eucharist for the very first time last fall, but most have looked forward to this day since they can remember coming forward with parents and siblings. We thank the teachers at both Sacred Heart School and Children's Faith Formation for the role they have played in helping our students grow in faith, but more important is the role that parents play as our young people grow in faith today and throughout their lives.

Our building project is underway! Sacred Heart Church | Ground BreakingIf you haven't noticed, we are doing some construction to our school. We are creating a new multi-purpose meeting room for both church and school by remodeling the current kindergarten classrooms. The kindergarten classes will move into the new addition on the northeast side of the building, along with two new preschool classrooms. For the first time, we will be offering a developmental kindergarten class. This project is slated for completion by the start of school in the fall of 2015.
